It was only eight weeks ago that I clicked open an e-mail and read an enticing invitation to join three other food bloggers on a fast and furious journey that has resulted in our collaborative cookbook, “4 Bloggers Dish: Passover, Modern Twists on Traditional Flavors”. With over 60 recipes in six sections, this book has plenty to offer traditionalists, vegetarians, vegans and those with gluten-free restrictions. In addition to a wide range of healthy, re-invented and highly original dishes, we break it down with suggested menus so you won’t schvitz a bit when your vegetarian cousin says she’s celebrating this holiday of freedom at your table.
Here’s the kicker: the 4 bloggers, Sarah Lasry, Amy Kritzer, Whitney Fisch and I, have never been in the same room together. We have never met as a group and we were not friends when this project was born just eight weeks ago.
We came together because we have admired each other’s food blogs.
After eight weeks of google hangouts at all hours of the night, we’ve created a dream together, strategized, given honest feedback and laughed A LOT. I can say with confidence that these beautiful and talented bloggers are now my friends.

Raised in Mexico City by Ashkenazi Jews, Fany will share the culinary connections between her Mexican and Eastern European heritage, and teach us how to make strawberry jelly doughnuts.

Kosher Cooking for the Chinese New Year

Winter Harvest Menu at Kosher Pop-Up
Dan and Yair Lenchner are at it again with their seventh pop up restaurant featuring winter harvest ingredients at their best.
Six courses will be served including pan fried sweetbreads with black truffles, smoked short ribs or seared sea trout, wild mushroom dumplings and more. Top it off with grilled pears graced with coconut milk caramel, kataifi, quince and cranberries.
Watch it all come together while eating in the kitchen at The Foundry, Long Island City.

Prime Butcher Baker opens on the UES
Joey Allaham, owner of Prime Grill, Prime KO and Solo Kosher Restaurants in NYC opened Prime Butcher Baker on Second Ave. between 81/82 yesterday.
The 3,000 foot KOSHER gourmet emporium features grass fed, organic meats, fresh fish via sustainable supplier LOCAL OCEAN, and a parave pastry kitchen on the premises. Welcome!

Kosher Food and Wine Experience
Monday, February 13 is the day to check out more than 30 kosher restaurants and caterers from the NY area at the Kosher Food and Wine Experience on Pier 60 @Chelsea Piers.
Plenty available to drink too, with over 200 high end wines represented and available for sampling beginning at 6:30 PM.
