We’re running a naming contest to help some friends out and we need your input.
Last week, we visited 5 Spoke Creamery in Goshen, NY, where we tasted their small batch, artisanal, handmade, raw milk cheeses. We were blown away by their 100 % solar powered farm and their very small herd of 34 cows.
And we love their cheese!
We met this sweet three month old calf who’s still without a tag. Her Mom, Bonnie, hasn’t been too verbal about what to call her little one.
YOU CAN NAME THIS CALF and win MOOCHO cheese!

You’ll have a chance to win SIX cheeses (4.5-5 lbs.) sent directly to your home from this dairy.
Farm owners and cheese makers, Barbara and Alan Glustoff will be the judges. They’ll be looking for something imaginative, clever and creative.
Contest ends Monday, June 27 at 6:00 PM, EST. We’ll notify the winner by Wednesday, June 29. The winner will be in cheese heaven by the end of next week.
Value of prize: $75.-$90. You’ll be having a cheese party with this moocho cheese!

Raised in Mexico City by Ashkenazi Jews, Fany will share the culinary connections between her Mexican and Eastern European heritage, and teach us how to make strawberry jelly doughnuts.

Kosher Cooking for the Chinese New Year

Kosher Food and Wine Experience
Monday, February 13 is the day to check out more than 30 kosher restaurants and caterers from the NY area at the Kosher Food and Wine Experience on Pier 60 @Chelsea Piers.
Plenty available to drink too, with over 200 high end wines represented and available for sampling beginning at 6:30 PM.
